His academic journey also included a Fulbright Scholarship in 1979 and a subsequent position at the International Institute for Theoretical Physics in Italy, where he was offered roles in both Italy and Arizona State University for groundbreaking work in autonomous crystal growth.
• From 1985 to 1988, Dr. Pandelisev led a team working on the autonomous growth of gallium arsenide crystals under a USAF/DARPA grant. Later, he participated in a joint research effort between the USAF and the Canadian government on large charge crystal growth of gallium arsenide from 1988 to 1990.
